Do violent games have a bad effect on todays youth?

I think that violent games do have a bad effect on teenagers because it makes them want to play them 24/7. Violent games can make young people stressed when they lose it also makes them anti-social because they enjoy playing it too much. I think that violent video games make people more agressive and make them generally more angry. Other people think that violent games dont make young people more agressive and that it's not the games faults because they have age rating for a reason!

    marketing

    viral marketing is like a flu and has the audience spread the word about the film in a form of a video or poster which catches the audiences eye. films that have used viral marketing;

    • Batman
    • cloverfeild
    • paranormal activity 1,2,3
    • the last exorcism
    • insidious
the dark knight used viral marketing as a way to get publicity, they did this by doing a treasure hunt to get information about it.
People use viral marketing because it is cheap way to advertise it and it will get them more publicity.

High budget marketing, is the opposite to low budget marketing. High budget is promoting the film very high budgeted by using high tech posters and expensive things.

Low budget is where they use a low budget to advertise the film and not much money is spent on making the film.

    Film Marketing Research

    1. Film marketing: film marketing is enhancing your films production revenue using things such as posters, billboards, magazines, trailers, internet and newspapers.
    2. Film posters are posters which advertise a film, a film poster will have when the film is being released, what the age rating is, the films name, a picture with the main characters on, a slogan. examples of these are:

The Inbetweeners Movie PosterThe Dark Knight Rises Poster
    3. A film trailer is a short clip that advertises a film, it tells you about all the information about it like the name when  it is being released, a slogan and different bits from the film to advertise it. If it was a action it would have explosions and shooting; if it was a comedy it would have funny clips. I have recently seen a trailer for Twilight because it is a action romance so it had action scenes and fighting and then had scenes of affection  to show the different scenes of the film.

    4. Film merchandise are things like posters, t-shirts, cups and mugs, CD's, toys. Film merchandise help to advertise films and bring in more money.

    5. A film website is a website that has information on a film and puts clips and things about it to make people want to see it and show them more information then a poster and a trailer. the website would contain information on the story and information about it.

    6. Film companies are using mobile phones to advertise there films by using apps on iphone blackberrys and other smart phones. on blackberrys some dvd's come with scans that you can use to go on a link to a film website. There are apps on smart phones that tell you about new releases and when they are out. Orange have an app that you can go on to see what films are coming out and information about them.

    7.
      300 Poster
The title of the film shows that it involves gore and it is an action film by the way it uses the colour red to symbolise blood and gore. The slogan suggests that they are going to have glory like an army and that they are soldiers. The colours are red and dark to suggest blood and violence in the movie, The font is like blood is dripping off of it and it is bold. the images are people falling off a cliff and being killed. The actors name are in small print under the title.

    My ideas for a advert

For a fizzy drink advert i would use a animal holding Beast in a broken cage drinking. I would use a celebrity such as Sylvester Stalone because he is Big and he is a inspirential character and people will think they will look like him if the drink it. I am going to call my product Beast because it is an energy drink and it will make people wanna buy it because the name will make them feel like there gonna turn into a beast after drinking it.

    Teenagers portrayed in the media

Introduction, I am going to research teenagers and how they are portrayed in the media. I chose this subject because i am a teenager and they are portrayed badly in the media when not all teenagers are like that so i am going to research about it.

    Section 1- Television
Teenagers are portrayed as thugs and drug takers such as in the programme Skins. In Skins teenagers are potrayed badly and it show that they take drugs, have sex and fight when it isn't always true.
    group-reg

The inbetweeners series portrays teenagers as idiots and stupid. They do this by making them do stupid things and portray teenagers badly making them seem supid.
Find out what happened when the lads took a trip to Warwick

The simpsons portrays teenagers as bullies and thugs. They show this in the characters Jimbo Jones, Kearney, Dolph. These characters portrays teenagers badly because it makes them seem like bullies.

    Sectoin 2- Films
Harry Brown potrays teenagers as criminals and murderers. They do this by them wearing hoodies and having knives, guns. This shows teenagers badly because it makes all teenagers seem violent and aggresive when most teenagers are not.
    Harry Brown Poster

American Pie portrays teenagers as wreckless and party animals. It does this by making them go to parties and be obsessed with girls. When in most cases teenagers are not all like this and they may go to parties but not all the times.
    American Pie Poster

Adulthood portrays teenagers as criminals and violent. They do this by making them wear hoodies and be intimidating and violent. This is not the case because not all teenagers are like this
    Adulthood Poster

    Section 3- News
England riots: What's the evidence gangs were behind the riots? This BBC article suggests that the riots were to do with teenager gangs. This suggests that teenagers are violent and cause trouble and because the BBC write this people will listen to them and think all teenagers are bad because they believe everything that the news says. When this is not the case most teenagers dont go out and start trouble.
    Rioters in Tottenham
The Media doesn't show many positive articles about teenagers which means that people dont see good things about teenagers so people look badly about teenagers.
Click to show "teenagers" result 10

Missiles thrown at cars from Bewdley bypass bridge. This BBC article show that people will fear teenagers because of the news putting up stories like this. This portrays teenagers badly because they stereotype them suggesting that they are all like this. The news gives teenagers a bad name because it suggests there all bad and they rarely do positive articles about them.
Click to show "riots" result 3

    Section 4- Conclusion
From my investigation i can conclude that the media represents teenagers badly. I think that the news portrays teenagers the worst because some people believe everything they hear on the news so it portrays people worse because they dont get to see teenagers do anything positive which isn't good. The whole of the media stereotypes teenagers to make them seem violent, aggresive and not nice people when most teenagers are nice people. I think that the media should noy portray teenagers as bad as they do.

    1. The BBC was founded in 1927 by John Reith
    2. BBC stands for British Broadcasting Corporation
    3. The purpose of the BBC is to inform everyone about news that is going on in the world
    4. The BBC is funded by £7.96 per month per household and £2.11 for radio stations, because of the licence fee
    5. The BBC produces TV, Websites, radio.
    6. The BBC produce 26 different TV and radio channels
    7. It is important that we have public service broadcasting because it gives news coverage, arts shows, current affairs, education, original drama, science and children’s programmes, as well as religious broadcasts.
    8. I think we should have the license fee because of otherwise we would not have all of the news coverage from bbc and not have radio stations or t.v programmes from them. But we shouldn't have it because it cocts alot of money for people and adds on if you pay for Sky or Virgin

    My Media intrests

I am intrested in the inbetweeners series due to it's comedy factor. I also enjoy playing games such as Call of Duty, UFC undisputed, Madden and fifa. I enjoy listening to lots of different music. I like watching Comedy, action, horror and thriller films. Comedy is probably my favourite genre because it makes me laugh and i think it's better than serious films.
